Rumors abound on whether or not ex-Velvet Revolver and Stone Temple Pilots frontman, Scott Weiland, will be rejoining Velvet Revolver. In an interview, Weiland hinted that the band was able to put “egos and differences and old…conflicts aside” and that he’s going to do some Velvet Revolver shows in late summer early fall.
But once Velvet Revolver and Guns N’ Roses member, Slash, heard this news he didn’t hesitate to say that Weiland is “out of his mind” and the band doesn’t want to retread old territory, especially after Weiland left the band in 2008 citing “ego and jealousy.”
“He did not say that,” says Slash in disbelief. “He’s out of his mind.” In an interview, Slash continues, “There’s been a common rumor going around, I know that he’s been positive on that subject. When grilled further on the possibility of Weiland’s return to singing duties, Slash said, “We have no intention of going backwards.”
Scott Weiland allegedly told ABC News Radio that he’s back in the rock supergroup which includes Matt Sorum and Duff McKagen. “We’ve all grown a lot,” said Weiland. “We’re able to put egos and differences and old conflicts aside and so that’s really cool.”
“Slash’s solo album gets released [on May 22] and so he’s gonna do some touring on that,” elaborated Weiland. “And then we’re gonna go and do some [Velvet Revolver] shows in the later part of summer into early fall.”
